RRC is proud to recognize and support the Kansas City Infertility Awareness group. This dynamic group of Kansas City area residents strives to raise awareness of the effects of infertility. Their goal is to provide hope, support, and encouragement to all who face the pain of infertility.
In recognition of National Infertility Awareness Week (April 24-30, 2011) they are hosting an Infertility Awareness Conference. The conference will take place at North Kansas City Hospital on Saturday, April 30, 2011, from 9am until 1230pm.
Local fertility clinics, counselors, and other community leaders are coming together to sponsor this educational event designed to acknowledge infertility, raise awareness of its far-reaching affects, and offer resources to men and women alike. At this year’s event, three speakers (Ryan Riggs, M.D.; Colleen Milroy, M.D.; and Kerry Christifano, M.A., L.P.C.) will address the both the medical and emotional aspects of infertility, while offering tangible ways to cope with the disease, discussing available options, and helping couples learn to take charge of their family building journey.
We are thrilled that Dr. Riggs will be speaking at the conference! He is scheduled for the first slot, beginning at 930am. Kerry Christifano is also a friend of RRC– she has shared her knowledge and compassion in her regular guest blog posts on the RRC blog. Kerry will be speaking at 1030am.
Registration began March 1st for the FREE event and will continue until maximum capacity for the room is reached. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Any couples/person thinking of trying to conceive, currently trying to conceive, unable to conceive, or dealing with infertility will benefit from attending this event. Family and friends are also welcome to attend with their loved ones.
