Our History

Rod Lyles, M.D., Founder of Reproductive Resource Center (RRC)

Rod Lyles, M.D., established the Center in 1988 serving as Medical Director from 1988-2009.  RRC was the first regional fertility center to offer comprehensive state of the art care for couples struggling to have a family.  Throughout his career with RRC, Dr. Lyles was a man of vision, the first in the city and the first in the region to offer the most innovative technologies including GIFT, ICSI, TESE, blastocyst culture, blastocyst cryopreservation, donor oocytes and embryo biopsy for preimplantation diagnosis.  His goal was always optimizing pregnancy rates while at the same time minimizing high order multiple rates, and throughout his tenure he maintained pregnancy rates among the highest in the nation.

Dr. Lyles hailed from Oklahoma.  He completed his medical degree at The University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City and his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.  He went on to complete his fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Baylor in 1986.  Following his sub-specialty training, he practiced for a short time in Kansas City, Missouri before relocating to Overland Park, Kansas to establish the Reproductive Resource Center in 1988.

In December of 2009, Dr. Lyles retired from the Reproductive Resource Center to travel, learn new hobbies, and spend time with his grandchildren and family.  He is greatly missed by his many patients, colleagues, and staff.  Dr. Lyles' legacy and dream live on.
